Police Blotter: Student Mugged Off Greenville Ave.

April 17, 2009

From staff reports

Early Wednesday morning, a senior male student was struck in the face by two unknown suspects while walking on Richmond Avenue, about three miles away from campus near Lower Greenville, according to a police report.

Dallas Police Senior Cpl. Kevin Janse said the student was walking home by himself at about 1:50 a.m. when he felt the presence of two men walking close behind him. One of the men pulled the student’s arm from behind and punched him in his left eye.

The student was knocked to the ground, where he endured multiple blows to the face and suffered lacerations, bleeding, and a broken tooth, Janse said.

An ambulance treated the student’s wounds on site.

The suspects stole the student’s iPhone and wallet, which contained his driver’s license, three credit cards and $60 worth of cash.

I feel so bad for what happen to this senior student, it feel now unsecured to be walking alone pass midnight. I hope this student gets better and I know he will never forget that day. I hope these subjects get cought and put behind bars for the crime they committed. My question, is there camaras that can be viewed by the city on that street where the student was walking ? I just want this student to get better.
