Big D Blog: DART arrives at the State Fair of Texas

September 29, 2009

To much anticipation, the first Green Line train made its first stop at the front of Fair Park on Friday.

The fair was not yet opened when people began arriving at the Fair Park gates.

State Fair of Texas officials are counting on the Green Line to increase attendance, according to the Dallas Morning News.

SMU Students can take advantage of the Green Line by heading over to Mockingbird Station.

Parking at the fair is about $20, but SMU students can use their DART Transit Pass of $5.

It isn’t clear as to how many people used the Green Line for the opening of the fair, but anticipation was high.

Green Line trains will run ever 10 minutes during the morning and evening rush hours, and 20 minutes the rest of the day.

With fried food, carnival rides, and the biggest fair in Texas, how can you not get on DART?
