Arts Beat: “Glee:” What’s the Big Song and Dance?

The TV show Glee has been getting a lot of hype recently.

Curious as to why, I’ve sporadically tuned in over the past few weeks and caught some episodes.

Honestly, I didn’t get hooked.

I’ve been in musicals and I like singing and dancing, but it was kind of weird to have in a TV show.

Yes, the show is about a glee club, and the kids are great singers, but I don’t think that it lived up to its buildup.

One kind of random thing that bugged me was that when anyone sang, it was obviously dubbed.

Sure it’s them singing, but dubbing is one of my pet peeves.

The dialogue isn’t anything groundbreaking, and none of the characters stand out that much.

Overall, I don’t think the show is that amazing, but it seems to be exploding in popularity over the airwaves.
