Sports Blog: Women’s Cross-Country Wins Second Consecutive C-USA Title, Women’s Soccer Earns C-USA Bid

The SMU Women’s Soccer team earned a bid to the C-USA tournament after winning three out of their last four regular season games. The Mustangs will host Memphis on November 4th. According to SMUMustangs.com, “if SMU defeats Memphis, they take on Colorado College in the second round of the tournament on November 6th.” The winner of the C-USA tournament receives an automatic bid to the NCAA 2009 tournament. The Mustangs ended their regular season with a (7-10-1) record. (5-5-1 C-USA)

The SMU Women’s Cross-Country team clenched its second consecutive C-USA title on Saturday after placing first in the South Central Region. Three Mustangs placed in the top five in Saturdays meet. The Mustangs are currently the No. 25 team in the nation. They are set to compete again in the South Central Regional’s on Nov. 14 in Waco.
