Ever tried pole dancing as a form of exercise? The Girl’s Room on Greenville Avenue in Dallas offers classes seven days per week, each day having a theme: Strut Your Stuff Tuesday and Temptation Thursday, for example.

The various pole dancing classes cost $25 per session.

Katie Ruppe, a senior SMU student, was a bit overwhelmed by her experience at The Girl’s Room.

“It was a great workout, but I was worn out by the end,” she said.

Professionals teach the classes, but there’s no need to feel intimidated. They offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced level classes. The motto for all pole dancing classes is “Tone, strengthen and learn body control by pole.”

Once you learn the techniques from the professionals, you can always move the practice to your home by purchasing a dance pole from The Girl’s Room. The most popular pole offered is the Kendra Wilkinson Sport Pole, sponsored by Wilkinson, the former Girls Next Door star on E! Entertainment.
