Ever tasted bubble tea? If not, you will not have to travel to Taiwan or Hong Kong to taste it! You can pick up your very own cup November 4 on the Hughes Trigg West Bridge. Just in case one cup is not enough, The Vietnamese Student Association sells boba tea, also known as bubble tea, every first Wednesday of the month.

Bubble tea originated in Taiwan in the early 1980’s. Tea vendors would position stands outside of elementary schools to attract children as they left school. Eventually, a vendor figured out that by adding a fruit flavor to the tea the children would find it more enjoyable. The idea quickly trickled out to other vendors. They soon learned that by shaking the tea the flavor of the fruit would disperse into the entire drink and make it even tastier, and by shaking it bobas were formed.

Boba tea is made with flavored powder or syrup, creamer, sweetener, and either water tea or milk. So, whether you are on your way to class or to hang out with friends do not forget to get a cup of bubble tea!
