The Mustangs came out of the locker room ready to close the door on UAB. They continued their domination with a strong offensive showing from Zach Line and Darius Johnson. The Stangs were able to fend off the Blazers 28-7.

SMU’s wide receiver Johnson had an incredible second half. He scored his first and second touchdowns of the season and looked much more comfortable on the field.

SMU quarterback Kyle Padron looked confident rushing and passing. Coach June Jones said Padron ran well in his one-on-ones against UAB.

SMU’s defense has a strong front seven men. They were able to continue their great play in the second half and hold UAB’s QB Isabelle, who rushed for over 200 yards last weekend, to only 34 rushing yards.

Head Coach June Jones, running back Zach Line, and linebacker Pete Fleps weigh in on the game at the press conference: SMUmustangs.com.
