Oscar Nominees: Not All Surprises

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the 2010 Oscar nominees first thing this morning in Hollywood.

This is the first year the Academy Awards has had a list of 10 nominees for Best Picture. Avatar is up for nine awards including best picture which is not quite a surprise after racking in more than $595 million.

The Nominees for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards are:

The Hurt Locker
Inglorious Bastards
Precious
A Serious Man
Up
Up in the Air

Actor in a Leading Role:
George Clooney
Morgan Freeman
Jeff Bridges
Colin Firth
Jeremy Renner

Actress in a Leading Role:
Sandra Bullock
Helen Mirren
Carey Mulligan
Gabourey Sidibe
Meryl Streep

Actor in a Supporting Role:
Matt Damon
Woody Harrelson
Christopher Plummer
Stanley Tucci
Christoph Waltz

Actress in a Supporting Role:
Penelope Cruz
Vera Farmiga
Maggie Gyllenhaal
Anna Kendrick
Mo’Nique

The Awards go live March 7, 2010 at 7 pm central time on ABC.
