Why do people love to tan? To be honest I like to have that sun-kissed glow because I feel like I look better, but is it worth the risks?

UV rays from the sun and tanning beds are known to case serious skin problems such as skin cancer, and, yikes, wrinkles and skin hyperpigmentation.

Fake tanning has become a daily part of our lives, just drive down Greenville and you will see all different tanning salons with pictures of scantily clad men and women who are bronzed to perfection. But many tanning salons do not clearly warn customers about the dangers of tanning.

The FDA agrees that the warnings are not enough. Hearings yesterday involved U.S. politicians arguing that the warning label on tanning beds should be similar to those on packs of cigarettes. THe recently passed healthcare bill even included a 10% tax on indoor tanning salons.

And don’t forget, there are plenty of creams, sprays and bronzers that can give you that bronzed look without the harmful effects!!
