We were fortunate enough to visit the Newseum today, a museum full of media history. CNN has a studio set up on the Newseum’s roof and fourth floor for the week of the inauguration. A giant screen in the middle of the atrium is projecting CNN live. I was in one of the exhibits this afternoon when, all of a sudden, I heard clapping and cheering. I walked into the atrium to see hundreds of people on every floor with their eyes glued to the screen — or more specifically, glued to the face of Barack Obama.

Obama continues to mesmerize the American people.

Stephen Hess, author of the new book “What Do We Do Now? A Workbook for the President-Elect,” said during a Newseum lecture that Obama has handled the transition better than any other president in history, besides maybe Ronald Reagan. Not only has Obama handled the transition seamlessly, but he has continued to awe his audience, the American people. On Jan. 16, The Wall Street Journal listed Obama‚Äôs approval rating as 71 percent, while Bush is leaving office with a 26 percent approval rating.

It is amazing to see the American people latch on to Obama’s every word and support him through the economic crisis, the fighting in Gaza, and the War on Terrorism.
